Welcome to Hollywood

Welcome to Hollywood <------ Listen Here!

During the early development of Nickelodeon’s boy band project, Sony Music brought in several experienced producers to serve as music consultants. Andreas Carlsson and Bryan Todd worked together to write the song “Welcome to Hollywood,” which was originally meant for the band. Simon Curtis, an American actor and singer known for his role in Nickelodeon’s TV movie Spectacular! was chosen to test for the pilot and recorded a demo of the song.

As the project moved forward, Curtis was eventually replaced by other performers, and the song was later given to Disney Channel actor Mitchel Musso. Without Curtis being informed, his background vocals were retained and used for Musso to lip-sync during live performances. Those same vocals also remained in the official studio version of the song.

“Welcome to Hollywood” was never officially released by Big Time Rush. It also remains unclear whether any version of the band, aside from Curtis’s original demo, ever recorded their own vocals for the track.

Lyrics:
I felt last night that we had something
You rolled your eyes like it was nothing new
You only think about you
Put your shades on not to show it
Don't pretend that you don't know it's true
You only think about–
If you look good, then girl, you should
Welcome to Hollywood
Boy, you better live it up before it brings you down
Welcome to Hollywood
Just got a grip on how to get around

I'm so glad I got to know you
Now I know what I'm supposed to do
You only think about you
The friendly faces I've been seeing
Now I know they're far from being true
You only think about–
If you look good, I guess I should

Welcome to Hollywood
Boy, you better live it up before it brings you down
Welcome to Hollywood
Just got a grip on how to get around

In your favorite Tinseltown
The boulevards, the neon lights
I've been in love since the first sight
I wouldn't change it if I could
Welcome to Hollywood
Welcome to Hollywood
Boy, you better live it up before it brings you down
Welcome to Hollywood
Just got a grip on how to get around

Welcome to Hollywood
Just got a grip on how to get around
Dog-eat-dog just to be seen, in the tabloid magazine
Seventeen a millionaire
Daddy's money, do you care?
Welcome to Hollywood
