Intermission

 Travis Garland Demo

Intermission

“Intermission” is an unreleased Big Time Rush song written by Travis Garland, Nick “RAS” Furlong, Adam Cherrington, and Aaron Pearce. An unmastered demo of the track, a slow breakup ballad, surfaced online in November 2011, about a year after BTR was released and shortly before the band’s next album. Earlier versions of the song had already circulated, including a demo recorded by Travis Garland, who was also the lead vocalist of NLT. After the BTR demo leaked, Nick “RAS” Furlong addressed it on Twitter, explaining that it was an old song from around a year earlier and was unlikely to be used. This was supported by the file’s metadata, which dated the recording to 2010.

Lyrics:

[Logan {Carlos}:]
Curtains open up the scene, spotlights shine on you and me, tonight (Tonight)
Pretending for the crowd below that we put on a real good show, but it's a lie (But it's a lie)
{We can't help but cause a fight, it's the same old drama every night}
I walk offstage 'cause this whole play {is more than I can take}

[Logan (James):]
(Whoa), I don't want it to be over, but we need a break before you break my heart
(And oh), we can't live this scene forever, right now you and me are better, better off apart
But I'll still love you when the lights come up for our intermission

[Logan (Kendall):]
I was one foot out the door, I couldn't play that part no more, with you
The chemistry just wasn't there, I couldn't act like I didn't care, when I do, I do
(We can't help but cause a fight, it's the same old drama every night)
I walk offstage 'cause this whole play (is more than I can take)

[Logan (James):]
(Whoa), I don't want it to be over, but we need a break before you break my heart
(And oh), we can't live this scene forever, right now you and me are better, better off apart
But I'll still love you when the lights come up
Yeah I'll still love you when the lights come up
The lights come up

[James:]
We're like actors in a play, living out our love on stage
You're just saying the same old lines to me, yeah
Somewhere we fell off track, but I know love will lead us back

[Logan (James):]
(Whoa), I don't want it to be over, but we need a break before you break my heart
(And oh), we can't live this scene forever, right now you and me are better, better off apart
But I'll still love you when the lights come up
Yeah I'll still love you when the lights come up
The lights come up

[Logan:]
Oh, whoa, ooh, whoa
Baby, I'm gonna love you when the lights come up
I'm still gonna love you when the lights come up (Whoa)
Baby, I'm gonna love you when the lights come up
Oh-oh, for our intermission
